Lost an AirPod? Here’s what to do

One AirPod gone or the charging case missing? There’s no need to buy a whole new pair straight away. Here’s what to do.

1. Search with Find My

Open the Find My app on your iPhone, tap “Devices”, then tap your AirPods. The map shows where they were last connected to your iPhone. If they’re nearby, tap “Play Sound”. You can mute one side to search for the left and right AirPod separately. With AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4 with ANC, the charging case can also play a sound.

2. Check what you still have

  • You still have one AirPod and the charging case: then you only need the missing left or right AirPod.
  • You have both AirPods, but the charging case is missing: then you only need a charging case.

3. Find your model number

You need the model number to make sure the replacement fits. It starts with A, for example A2084, and is printed in small letters on the AirPod or inside the lid of the charging case. On your iPhone, you’ll find it in Settings under your AirPods. Our table of all model numbers shows which part belongs to which model.

4. Order a replacement and pair it

At Lostpod, you can get the left or right AirPod and the charging case individually, as a genuine replacement part from Apple. Shipping within Germany and to the EU takes 1 to 5 working days. Our help page explains step by step how to connect the replacement to your iPhone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy a single AirPod?

Yes. You can get the left or right AirPod and the charging case individually, for all common AirPods and many Beats models.

Will the replacement work with my remaining AirPod?

Yes, as long as the model numbers belong to the same model. Check the version: AirPods Pro 2 with Lightning and with USB-C are different parts, as are AirPods 4 with and without ANC. The table shows which numbers go together.

I can’t find my model number. What now?

Write to us using the contact form, ideally with a photo of your AirPod or charging case. We’ll help you find the right part.
